Reckitt Names Ujunwa Chukwumah as New West Africa General Manager

Ujunwa Chukwumah has taken on a new role as General Manager for Reckitt's West Africa operations, effective September 15, 2026. With over 19 years of commercial and leadership experience across Africa, she is the first Nigerian and first woman to hold this position.

Chukwumah joins Reckitt from Diageo, where she served as Commercial Director for West and Central Africa, overseeing businesses in multiple African markets. Her background also includes senior roles at Procter & Gamble, where she developed commercial strategy, market development, and team leadership skills as Country Manager/Corporate market strategy & planning manager, Sub-Saharan Africa.

As General Manager, Chukwumah will be responsible for driving commercial performance, expanding sustainable growth, developing organisational capabilities, and strengthening Reckitt's brands in the region. She expressed her excitement about joining Reckitt and leading its West Africa business, stating that she is 'delighted to join Reckitt and lead its West Africa business. Having spent much of my career working across the region, I am excited about the opportunity to bring my experience to a business whose brands play an important role in the lives of consumers.'
