Remepy Secures $36 Million for 'Hybrid Drugs' Platform
Remepy, an Israeli biotechnology company developing 'hybrid drugs', has closed a $36 million Series A funding round. The investment brings total capital raised to $62 million and was co-led by O.G. Venture Partners and M Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Germany-based Merck KGaA.
The proceeds will fund global Phase III development of Remepy's lead program, Hybridopa, which combines immediate-release carbidopa/levodopa with DopApp, an AI-driven mobile application. The company aims to expand pharmaceutical co-development partnerships and scale the Hybrid Drug platform.
Hybridopa has shown promising results in a Phase IIa trial involving 41 patients with Parkinson's disease. Participants who received the digital component experienced a 9.7-point mean reduction on the MDS-UPDRS Parts I+II+III, compared to a 1.95-point reduction in controls.
The partnership between Remepy and Merck KGaA is expected to advance 'hybrid drugs' across multiple therapeutic areas, beginning with rare tumors. This collaboration represents the first pharmaceutical co-development partnership for Remepy.
