Renaissance Loads Up on Nvidia, Abandons Micron and Other Tech Favorites
Renaissance Technologies has made significant changes to its stake in several top technology companies. In the second quarter, the quant fund added 4.56 million shares of Nvidia Corp. (NVDA), bringing its total stake to 7.09 million shares valued at approximately $1.42 billion.
This is a notable bet by Renaissance on AI chipmaker Nvidia, which has been a major player in the sector. In contrast, the fund significantly reduced its position in Micron, lowering its stake from 2.16 million to 211,600 shares.
Renaissance also sold all of AppLovin and nearly exited Sandisk, while increasing its stake in CrowdStrike to about $572 million and adding value to Amazon by around $546 million.
