Rivian Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Infringement of Safety Patents

Rivian, an electric vehicle maker, is facing a lawsuit from Honeywell Aerospace US LLC for allegedly infringing on seven patented vehicle technologies. The lawsuit was filed in an Arizona federal court and claims that Rivian's electric vehicles use patented technologies without permission.

The patents in question cover various aspects of vehicle safety, including monitoring systems, traffic displays, autonomous navigation, sensor fusion displays, laser-based navigation, hazard detection, and software licensing management.

Honeywell Aerospace US LLC is a spin-off from Honeywell International Inc., which occurred in June. The company is seeking monetary damages, injunctive relief, enhanced damages for willful infringement, and attorney fees.
