A tragic road-rage incident at a Home Depot in Apopka, Florida, has left one man dead and his family seeking answers. On July 28, 2026, Michael Joshua Chak, 33, was shot inside the store's parking lot after what police described as an isolated incident that began with a confrontation on West Orange Blossom Trail.

Apopka police responded to reports of gunfire at about 10:22 a.m. and found Chak suffering from his injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to FOX 35 Orlando and WKMG ClickOrlando.

The State Attorney's Office has not announced any charges in the case, and records and charging information remain pending. Suzy Cohen, Chak's mother, has asked anyone who witnessed the confrontation or recorded video in the Home Depot parking lot to contact authorities, WESH reported.
