Coca-Cola has appointed Rob Gehring as its new North America president, effective December 1. He will replace John Murphy, who temporarily took on the role since August 1. Murphy will continue as Coca-Cola's president and chief financial officer.

Gehring returns to Coca-Cola after a stint at Monster Energy, where he became CEO of the Americas business in February. His experience also includes serving as Hershey's global chief sales officer and leading Swire Coca-Cola USA, which oversees bottling operations spanning 17 states and over 8,000 employees.

Gehring has a long history with Coca-Cola, beginning his career within the company in 1992. He later led its global Walmart team and is now set to lead North America. Coca-Cola CEO Henrique Braun highlighted Gehring's leadership and operating experience as key factors in the appointment.
