Rockstar's Obsessive Secrecy Culture Raises Red Flags

In court documents, Rockstar revealed that it takes a 'near pathological obsession with confidentiality' approach to secrecy. The company has implemented strict security protocols, including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) for all visitors and contractors working on-site, accompanied by security personnel at all times.

Rockstar's internal security team is comprised of five investigators and a director who monitor and investigate potential data leaks. The company has also taken measures to protect its systems from external threats, including restricting remote work, banning external storage devices, prohibiting photography, and preventing employees from connecting personal devices to Rockstar's systems.

The company faces regular cyber attacks, which have led to high-profile data breaches in the past, such as the 2022 GTA 6 leaks. In response, Rockstar has become 'hypervigilant' about locking down information 'as tightly as possible.'
