Microsoft has announced a large-scale cyberattack by the Storm-2945 subgroup of the Midnight Blizzard hacking group, aimed at compromising Wi-Fi networks in hotels worldwide.

The campaign, named CaptiveCrunch, used an 'Adversary-in-the-Middle' attack to redirect users through a controlled phishing infrastructure.

Malicious software was distributed disguised as browser or operating system updates, including full-fledged Remote Access Trojans (RATs) for Windows written in Golang.
