Ryzen 5500F and 7500 Hit Amazon at $118 and $209: Priced Higher Than Expected
Two new Ryzen processors from AMD have hit Amazon shelves - the Ryzen 5 5500F and Ryzen 5 7500. The Ryzen 5 5500F, based on the Zen 3 architecture, is priced at $118, while the Ryzen 5 7500, using the newer Zen 4 architecture, comes in at $209.
The initial launch prices for these processors were reported to be $99 and $189, respectively. However, it's not uncommon for e-retailers like Amazon to list products at higher prices when they first go on sale, with the expectation that prices will drop over time.
Despite its faster performance and newer architecture, the Ryzen 5 7500 is already facing criticism for being too expensive, especially considering other options available in the budget segment. AMD has announced plans to increase CPU prices by around 10% soon, which could further impact the appeal of these processors.
