Salesforce Drops Record $27B on Stock Buybacks Amid SaaSpocalypse Fears

Salesforce has set a record by spending $27B on stock buybacks to combat the looming 'SaaSpocalypse' in the software-as-a-service industry.

The company executed a $25 billion accelerated share repurchase agreement with major banks, including Banco Santander and JPMorgan Chase, as part of a broader $50 billion buyback program approved by its board in February 2026.

The deal was funded partly through a $25 billion debt issuance, which has forced Salesforce to revise its annual operating and free cash flow growth projections downward. This move reduces the company's diluted share count by 10% year-over-year.
