Salesforce Expands Anthropic Partnership Amid AI Software Pressure
Salesforce and Anthropic have expanded their partnership to combat investor concerns about AI tools replacing traditional SaaS offerings. The companies have unveiled Claudeforce, a plugin with 37 pre-built sales skills that integrate Claude chatbot with enterprise workflows.
The plugin, launching in preview next month, allows salespeople to access critical data from inside Anthropic's Claude chatbot and perform actions such as composing emails and updating records.
Salesforce shares have declined about 22% in 2024 and 20% in 2025 amid investor concerns that AI tools could erode core software offerings. Anthropic, on the other hand, has seen rapid business growth with its annualized revenue run rate reaching $65 billion at the end of July.
The partnership adds to a growing trend of enterprise adoption of Claude products, driven by their reasoning capabilities and ability to integrate with existing data and workflows.
