Salesforce Sees AI Agents Reshaping Work in Enterprise Software
Salesforce executives Bill Patterson and Rob Seaman presented their vision for the future of enterprise software at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference 2026. They argued that AI agents are reshaping work, handling routine tasks, and enabling customers to pay more often for outcomes rather than seats.
The company's integration with Anthropic's Claude AI, Claudeforce, is being commercialized after already being built into customer workflows. Only about 5% of Salesforce's installed base is on premium SKUs, leaving room for higher-priced bundles like Agentforce 1 Edition, which bundles Claudeforce and other tools at $550 retail.
Salesforce expects more agents than human employees in many workplaces, with AI stack starting and stopping in Slack. The company plans to capture spending that is already spread across multiple vendors through its bundle strategy and shift from seat-based pricing to usage-based and outcome-based pricing models.
