Salesforce Stock Soars on Premium Upgrade Pitch
Salesforce stock has surged 56% over the past three months, outperforming the S&P 500's 5.0% gain during the same period. The company's AI pitch has shifted from positioning itself as a supplier of 'digital labor' to focusing on premium upgrades.
The AI revenue behind this bet is real but still small, with Agentforce, Salesforce's autonomous agent product, reaching $1.5 billion in annual recurring revenue. This represents about 3.4% of the company's total trailing revenue, which stands at $43.9 billion over the past twelve months.
To sustain its rally, Salesforce needs to produce meaningful AI revenue and see growth in its largest businesses through premium editions and partner products like Claudeforce. Management's guidance for the current quarter will provide an early indicator of both these factors.
