Salesforce Unveils AI-Driven Interface Layer Amid Protests Over ICE Contracts
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff unveiled 'AIForce', an AI-powered live interface layer for enterprise users, at the company's annual Dreamforce convention in San Francisco. The introduction of AIForce comes amidst controversy over Salesforce's contracts with ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and protests outside the Moscone Center.
Benioff pitched AIForce as an 'interface revolution', promising dynamic, intelligent, composable, and live interfaces. He emphasized that models alone cannot run the enterprise and that AIForce brings all enterprise knowledge inside Salesforce to any AI interface, unlocking tremendous value for companies.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang presented a contrasting view on AI safety, calling for companies to regulate or pace themselves and independently ensure product safety before release. Meanwhile, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei spoke about the importance of global industry-wide safety standards and expressed surprise at the pace of AI growth amongst businesses.
