Salesforce's Marketing Cloud Revolutionizes Real-Time Engagement
Marketing Cloud is designed to handle real-time capabilities, processing streaming events and executing AI workflows as soon as customer signals arrive. The platform's architecture is built natively on the Salesforce platform and Data 360, a customer data platform (CDP) that unifies customer and enterprise context.
The platform addresses three dimensions of 'real-time': data latency, decisioning latency, and delivery latency. Data 360 handles data ingestion in real time, while Flow is used for triggered automation and Agentforce agents for response and adaptation.
According to a State of Marketing report, 83% of marketers say customers now expect two-way conversations with brands, making real-time capability a baseline rather than a differentiator. The three-dimensional framing matters because a platform that refreshes data in real time but still routes decisions through a batch scheduler doesn't satisfy the full expectation.
