Samsung Phone Users Can Now Sync Photos and Videos to Google

Samsung phone users can now sync their photos and videos to Google Photos. This change comes as Samsung's native Microsoft OneDrive integration ends on September 30.

The update will roll out over the coming days, with availability varying depending on account type, device model, or region.

To use this feature, users must have a compatible Samsung device running Android 13 or newer and a personal Google account. They can find their current Android version by going to Settings > About phone > Software information.

Syncing photos and videos between Gallery and Google Photos allows users to view and share multimedia from their Samsung devices, the Google Photos app, and photos.google.com. However, there are some limitations: Google Workspace accounts cannot use this feature, and synced items will not be visible in features like memories, highlights, or live albums unless backed up via Google Photos.
