Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 Experiences Cabin Ceiling Collapse During Emergency Return
A Boeing 737-500 operated by Sepehran Airlines experienced a terrifying mechanical failure on September 15, when violent shaking caused cabin ceiling panels to collapse onto passengers during an emergency return to Mashhad, Iran.
The domestic flight had departed from Mashhad Hashemi Nejad International Airport bound for Kermanshah International Airport. However, shortly after takeoff, a tire reportedly burst from the landing gear, causing engine damage and severe vibrations that shook the aircraft violently.
The pilots successfully landed the plane at Mashhad, and all passengers were able to disembark safely. The Iran Civil Aviation Organization has opened an investigation into the incident.
