The long-abandoned Oceanwide Center construction site in San Francisco's SoMa district is finally seeing new life. The San Francisco Recovery Fund has unveiled plans for a massive commercial office tower, Fifty at First, which promises to bring innovative companies and art installations to the area.

The project, led by Gensler as architects and Field Operations for landscape design, will stand 915 feet tall with 56 floors. It will yield approximately 1.5 million square feet of space, featuring 15'6″ deck-to-deck heights, around 20,000 square feet of outdoor areas, and an arts program in collaboration with SFMOMA.

With permits yet to be published, SFRF aims to submit plans soon for the project. Once completed, Fifty at First will likely become one of San Francisco's tallest buildings, second only to the Salesforce Tower.
