ShinyHunters Hits Security Firm Brinks Home with Ransomware Attack
Security company Brinks Home has been hit by the notorious ransomware group ShinyHunters, who have added it to their dark web leak page.
The cybercriminals obtained 4.9 million records from Brinks' Salesforce instance, although it's unclear what personally identifiable information (PII) may be included.
As a result of the attack, ShinyHunters has released 41 GB of data in retaliation against Brinks for not paying the ransom.
Brinks assures that their alarm monitoring system and operations remain unaffected, as the attackers did not access their products or services.
The company is committed to notifying potentially affected individuals and recommends its customers be vigilant against unsolicited emails, text messages, or phone calls requesting personal information or account credentials.
