Shopify's stock price surged by 7% in early Tuesday trading following news that its Shop Pay checkout service will be integrated into Meta Platforms' Muse AI agent. This integration allows users to browse Shopify-powered stores and complete purchases on a user's behalf through Shop Pay.

The partnership between Shopify and Meta Platforms is seen as a significant move, with Deutsche Bank analysts noting that it demonstrates major AI platforms are defaulting to Shopify's infrastructure for commerce purposes. However, no financial terms or revenue split were disclosed in the announcement.

Meta Platforms' shares, on the other hand, slipped 0.8% following the news, as some investors expressed concerns over the transaction economics of the partnership. Amazon's stock price remained relatively unchanged, despite its absence from the rally, as the company has chosen to block Muse from completing purchases on its own site.
