Nvidia Becomes Tokenized Stock as Traditional Equities Converge with Crypto
Nvidia is no longer just a stock-market trade, it can also appear as a tokenized stock and even a crypto-adjacent leveraged trade, sometimes on the same screen for the same investor. This convergence of traditional equities and crypto markets is changing the way investors interact with assets.
Alice Liu, Head of Research at CoinMarketCap, notes that the trending board, which shows real-time attention indices for global retail, is telling us that 'retail has stopped distinguishing between the ticker and the rail.'
CoinMarketCap's data suggests that this shift is not just about tokenization itself, but rather the trading rails connecting these markets. The company's trending board recently featured tokenized Nvidia alongside a tokenized Nasdaq-100 ETF, tokenized Space Exploration Technologies Corp., Apple Inc., Micron Technology, Inc., Microsoft Corp, and Alphabet Inc.
Roughly one in four of the top 76 trending assets on CoinMarketCap was a tokenized equity. As of September 10, the tokenized-stocks category included 1,851 instruments with a combined market capitalization of about $2.3 billion and roughly $2 billion in daily trading volume, a market that barely existed 18 months earlier.
