Slack Brings Salesforce Data into Conversations with Slackforce

Slack has introduced two new features at Dreamforce: Slackforce and Slack Code. Slackforce allows users to bring Salesforce data into conversations, while Slack Code enables teams to code and create together in a shared space.

With Slackforce, a conversation can lead to a shared view of customer data or even proposed record changes. However, administrators must define which data and actions each agent may access before treating the channel as a safe place for work.

Slack Code gives an agent-assisted coding session a shared channel where teammates can see the agent's plan, inspect a diff, and preview the result in the conversation.

To ensure proper boundaries, Slack recommends creating a permission-and-data-flow worksheet to define access and authority for each proposed workflow. This includes identifying owners, reviewing approval prompts, and tracking records of changes.
