Smart Home Setup Simplified with Local AI Assistants
Smart home setup has long been plagued by technical issues and compatibility problems. Even Google's products can be difficult to set up, as experienced writer Nimrod Aldea recently discovered.
The issue lies in the complexity of connecting different devices from various manufacturers, each running on different protocols. This can result in a 'never-ending nightmare' of getting everything to work together seamlessly.
Recently, Google released a QR code fix for setting up smart bulbs in the Google Home app. However, this solution is seen as outdated by many smart home enthusiasts who have already moved on to using AI-powered assistants like Home Assistant and Mira.
The latter allows users to control their entire home through voice commands or taps, without the need for any cloud upload or subscription fees. In fact, Aldea himself built a similar system using a local AI assistant called Mira and a WiZ bulb that connects directly to his network.
