Solar-Powered Trash Cans Arrive at Hollywood Studios Ahead of New Attractions
Disney's Hollywood Studios has been bustling with new developments, and one subtle addition that might have gone unnoticed is the introduction of new solar trash cans and recycling bins in the park. These innovative waste management systems are designed to make it easier for guests to dispose of their trash while minimizing contact with potentially dirty surfaces.
The new trash cans feature a lever that can be pushed with the foot, allowing users to open them without having to touch them. They also have solar capabilities that aid in compacting, enabling them to hold more waste before needing to be emptied. Furthermore, these high-tech bins are equipped to alert custodial staff when they are full, ensuring that waste is collected efficiently.
The new trash cans can be found in various locations throughout the park, including near Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, character meet-and-greets, and the Walt Disney Studios courtyard. This area also features The Magic of Disney Animation, an immersive experience inspired by the Disney short Once Upon A Studio.
The Magic of Disney Animation is set to officially open on September 14th, offering four different experiences, including Olaf Draws!, where guests can learn to draw beloved characters with the help of an animatronic Olaf. Other features include Off the Page! and The Drawn to Wonderland playground, themed around Mary Blair's original concept art for Alice in Wonderland.
