Southern Living Unveils 2026 Idea House in Fredericksburg, Texas

Southern Living's annual Idea House has taken up residence in Fredericksburg, Texas. This year's home is a 4,000-square-foot contemporary farmhouse designed to reflect the warmth and relaxed spirit of Hill Country living.

The property, located just three miles from downtown Fredericksburg in Friedën, features designs and products from eleven sponsors including ADT, James Hardie, Marvin, Southern Living Plant Collection, Sherwin-Williams, and Volvo Cars. The home's interior designers, Jean Liu, Marcus Mohon, and Paloma Contreras, brought their unique perspectives to the project while taking cues from the Hill Country landscape.

The result is a stunning property with standout features such as a vaulted white oak ceiling in the living room, a kitchen inspired by the region's colors, and a casita that nods to Fredericksburg's historic Sunday houses. The home will be open for public tours through December 20.
