Lee Association for Remarkable Citizens (LARC) will host its fourth annual Exceptional Employers of Southwest Florida event on September 1st at The Collaboratory in Fort Myers.
The free event brings together business owners, human resources professionals, hiring managers, and community leaders to recognize local employers who create opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
According to Angela Katz, Executive Director of LARC, 'Businesses often tell us they're looking for dedicated, reliable employees but aren't sure where to begin.' The event will feature a complimentary breakfast, networking, recognition of Southwest Florida's Exceptional Employers, and an engaging panel discussion with business leaders who have successfully embraced inclusive hiring.
Panelists include John Heller of The Home Depot Bonita Springs, Dan Detrick of CopyLady, Miguel Carmona of Culver's of NE Cape Coral, and Mary Rose of Pink Shell Beach Resort. The event will be emceed by Kellie Burns, a former broadcast journalist and one of Southwest Florida's most trusted television news anchors.
The event aims to educate attendees on the benefits of inclusive hiring, including improved employee retention, workplace culture, productivity, and community engagement. LARC has been empowering individuals with IDD through education, vocational training, advocacy, and employment services for over 72 years.
