SpaceX's Elon Musk claims that his company's rocket scientists have an unparalleled advantage in building data centers due to their expertise in aerospace engineering. In a recent earnings call, Musk boasted that even a fraction of SpaceX's experience would produce 'an amazing outcome' in AI infrastructure.

Musk made the comparison with baseball's New York Yankees playing against a Little League team, stating that it's like 'taking a small amount of the expertise we use for rockets and satellites, and applying that to scaling terrestrial data centers.'

SpaceX has invested heavily in AI infrastructure, spending nearly $16 billion in the second quarter alone. The company expects to continue this trend, with capital expenditures remaining at roughly the current level over the next two quarters.

Musk also announced a partnership with Nvidia, which will provide SpaceX with 'a very significant percentage' of its GPUs next year. The company aims to build its AI computing platform exclusively on Nvidia's Vera Rubin architecture.
