SpaceX aims to raise $40 billion for Nvidia chip purchase
SpaceX is reportedly in the process of raising a massive $40 billion to fund a significant purchase of Nvidia chips, according to a Financial Times report. The Elon Musk-led company aims to secure around $10 billion in bank loans and $30 billion in investment-grade debt for this acquisition. The financing effort is being led by asset manager Apollo Global Management, which is also expected to help sell the debt to a variety of investors, including bond fund Pimco, who are in discussions to finance the deal.
The transaction is anticipated to close by 2027, though no official comments have been made by SpaceX, Apollo, Nvidia, or Pimco regarding the report. The move underscores SpaceX’s ambitious plans and its reliance on high-performance computing hardware for its operations.
