Nvidia's stock surged 4.9% on Wednesday, as one of the biggest names in tech, SpaceX, committed to using the company's GPUs exclusively for its AI systems.

During an earnings call after market close on Tuesday, Elon Musk announced that SpaceX would be building its AI systems with Nvidia's graphics processing units (GPUs) due to their dominance in AI chipmaking. Musk praised Nvidia's Vera Rubin architecture as 'the best' and stated that the company would receive a significant percentage of Nvidia's GPUs next year.

SpaceX plans to close out 2026 with over 2 gigawatts of compute capacity, rising to 10 gigawatts by the end of 2027. This commitment from SpaceX is expected to boost Nvidia's revenue and profits in the coming years.
