Stillwater Resident Gregory Stowell Dies After 30-Year Career at Freihofer Baking Co.

Gregory Paul Stowell passed away on September 4, 2026, at his home in Stillwater surrounded by his loving family. He was 68 years old and a veteran of the US Air Force.

Greg had been employed for over 30 years at Freihofer Baking Co. in Albany, where he worked as Shipping Supervisor until his retirement 10 years ago. He later worked at the Home Depot Store in Saratoga.

Stowell is survived by his wife of 48 years, Charylene Stephenson Stowell; their children, Gregory R. and Tammy M.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
