Stocks React to Earnings as Broadcom Swings on Market Volatility
Investors are sizing up their portfolios after a busy week of earnings announcements and market moves. The stocks that caught attention include Broadcom, Arista Networks, Cisco Systems, and ITAU Unibanco.
Broadcom saw significant price swings throughout the day, with shares hitting an intraday low of $547.52 before recovering to close at $557.42, down 1.3% from its previous closing price. On a year-to-date basis, Broadcom's stock has gained over 22%, outperforming the broader market.
Arista Networks and Cisco Systems also reported quarterly earnings that met expectations but offered little in terms of surprise or major developments. Arista's revenue came in at $1.37 billion, just shy of analyst estimates, while Cisco posted a net income of $4.7 billion for its fiscal first quarter.
ITAU Unibanco, Brazil's largest bank by market value, saw its shares rise 2.3% after the company reported better-than-expected earnings growth in the third quarter. The bank's stock has been on an upward trajectory over the past year, driven primarily by the country's economic recovery.
