The Google TV Streamer has seen a significant price hike, increasing from $99 to $149. This 50% increase puts it in line with other streaming devices that have also seen recent price bumps. Amazon raised prices across its Echo, Kindle, and Fire TV lineup, including the Fire TV Stick 4K Max, which is now priced at $84.99. Apple's Apple TV 4K saw a price hike from $129 to $199 for the Wi-Fi model and up to $249 for the version with Ethernet.

The Google TV Streamer's new pricing is already live on the Google Store and Best Buy, although some retailers may still be selling it at the old price. According to Google, the increase in cost comes from rising component costs, which have been affecting the tech industry as a whole. Component shortages have driven up prices across various products, including laptops and game consoles.

Despite the price hike, the Google TV Streamer remains cheaper than Apple's Apple TV 4K, making it an attractive option for those looking to upgrade their streaming setup.
