Surface Devices Stick with Intel and Qualcomm Amid AMD Partnership

Microsoft's Surface brand of mobile PCs continues to use processors from Intel and Qualcomm, despite maintaining a good working relationship with AMD. The company has chosen not to include AMD processors in its lineup, citing limited resources as the reason.

In the past, AMD was included in some Surface devices, such as the Surface Laptop 3 in 2019 and the Surface Laptop 4. However, this is no longer the case. AMD does have a working relationship with Microsoft, producing processors for Xbox consoles, including future next-gen products.

Brett Ostrum, Surface Corporate Vice President, stated that Microsoft 'loves' working with AMD, but has to make choices wisely due to limited resources.
