Disney World Ride Closures and Updates in October

Walt Disney World is a place of magic and wonder, but even in the most magical of places, things can go wrong. Weather, flight delays, and ride closures can all impact your plans, which is why it's essential to stay informed about any changes at the park. In October, several rides will be affected by refurbishments or updates.

The Walt Disney World Railroad has been temporarily closed since September 28th for routine refurbishment and is expected to reopen in November. The reason for the closure is linked to construction projects on Piston Peak and Villains Land. Additionally, all three train stations, Fantasyland, Main Street, U.S.A., and Frontierland, will be closed due to the renovation.

Alien Swirling Saucers has welcomed a new soundtrack called 'Lilypad's Jams' since September 25th. This update features reimagined Toy Story songs and brand-new tunes from world-class musicians in Nashville, covering various genres like pop, country, EDM, and alt-rock. Classic songs like 'You've Got A Friend in Me,' 'We Belong Together,' and 'I Can't Let You Throw Yourself Away' are also included.

At Blizzard Beach, the Slush Gusher slide has been closed since September and will remain so throughout October without a confirmed reopening date. Meanwhile, Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress at the Magic Kingdom will be closed through 2027 for refurbishment with new scenes from various decades and possible future updates.
