Swire Coca-Cola has invested in an automated order-picking system at its factory in Zhengzhou, China. The company spent 900 million yuan (approximately US$134.3 million) on the facility, which began using robotic systems this month.

Peter Mills, chief supply chain officer of Swire Coca-Cola, stated that China is a growth market and that consumer habits are changing. He noted that Chinese consumers are seeking more variety from the drinks sections in their local stores.

The company aims to meet increasingly diverse demand across emerging sales channels with this new system. The automated facility is intended to help address shifting needs through convenience stores, vending coolers, and snack stores.
