The options include submitting applications directly through a Swiss representation abroad, which can be done entirely online. Alternatively, applicants may use an external visa service provider or route their application through the representation of another Schengen State, given Switzerland's membership in the area.

For African countries, such as Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya, understanding which channel to use is crucial. Since Switzerland often doesn't maintain a dedicated embassy in these regions, applicants may need to rely on an external service provider or approach another Schengen State's mission.
