Synopsys Kicks Off $1 Billion Share Buyback with JPMorgan
Synopsys has launched a $1 billion accelerated share repurchase (ASR) program with JPMorgan Chase, marking a significant move to buy back its own stock. The initial delivery under this ASR included approximately 1,735,000 shares, reflecting the first phase of the repurchase.
The ASR program allows Synopsys to repurchase shares at a discounted rate based on the average daily volume-weighted prices during the repurchase period. The remainder of the shares, if any, will be settled on or before January 5, 2027, depending on the volume-weighted average price (VWAP) over this period.
The final number of shares delivered will be determined by the performance of Synopsys' stock during the repurchase window, with the discount applied to the VWAP. This strategic move is expected to impact the company's share count and potentially influence its stock price in the coming months.
