Take-Two Goes After CyberLeek in GTA 6 Leak Spree
Take-Two Interactive has taken a more aggressive approach to stopping the leak of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) gameplay footage. After removing leaked videos from the internet, the company has filed DMCA subpoenas against Microsoft and Discord in an effort to identify the individual or group behind the leaks.
The filings, submitted on August 20 to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, are seeking records connected to CyberLeek, a user who has been posting GTA 6 gameplay videos online. The requests cover IP addresses, account records, and device information associated with accounts linked to CyberLeek.
The leaks have been ongoing since August 18, with multiple videos showing driving, shooting, and other unfinished gameplay. One video even showed Jason firing bullets into a wall to spell 'LEEK', suggesting that the source has direct access to a playable development build.
Despite Take-Two's efforts to stop the leak, new footage continues to appear online. The company has been issuing copyright takedowns against copies of the footage, but it remains unclear whether these efforts will be successful.
