Tech Giants Join Zero Emission Maritime Buyers Alliance

Google, Microsoft, and logistics company DSV have joined the Zero Emission Maritime Buyers Alliance. The alliance aggregates demand from cargo owners before seeking bids for shipping services that run on low- and zero-emission fuels.

This allows participating companies to address Scope 3 emissions produced within their supply chains.

The group's first tender was secured by Hapag-Lloyd, which relied on liquefied biomethane to provide the contracted emissions reductions. A later tender for e-fuels covering 2027 was awarded in December 2025 to Hapag-Lloyd and North Sea Container Line.
