Tech Titans Shine in October's Early Trading with Micron, Amazon, and Google News
Stock markets are looking to move past a challenging September as trading resumes in October. Investors have reason to be optimistic, however, given several significant announcements from major companies overnight.
Micron Technology MU reported its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings, which far exceeded expectations. The company's revenue surged 379.1% year-over-year to $54.23 billion, with cloud memory business revenue nearly doubling sequentially to $16.28 billion. Analysts had predicted $31.72 per share on $51.49 billion in revenue, but Micron blew past those estimates.
Constellation Energy and Amazon AMZN have also made headlines with a 20-year power agreement supporting over $3 billion of investment in Constellation's Calvert Cliffs nuclear plant in Maryland. This deal covers 690 megawatts of power, including an additional 190 megawatts that Constellation plans to bring online between 2030 and 2032.
Google GOOGL is also making moves with the rollout of its Gemini 4 Argon AI model. The company has acknowledged internal reports on coding performance but maintains that it would be inaccurate to describe Gemini 4 as underperforming.
