Telcos Singtel and Vodafone Ride AI Infrastructure Wave Amid Record Revenues
Singtel reported its first-quarter earnings increased by 7.9% to $361 million, driven in part by growth from its datacentre arm Nxera and robust contributions from regional associates like Airtel and AIS.
The multinational operator's revenues of $2.78 billion for the fiscal first quarter were up just 0.4% at constant currency conversion rates compared with the same period last year, but Singtel Group CEO Yuen Kuan Moon noted that 'we had a strong start to the year.'
Cisco also reported a record year, with revenues rising by 18% to $17.3 billion in its fiscal fourth quarter and full-year sales growing by 12% to $63.3 billion.
Vodafone Procure & Connect has sealed an international voice deal with Telenor, while Vodafone UK is facing a threat from a UK politician over SIM cards distributed to migrants.
