Tempo Faithful Stand Tall Despite Blowout Loss

The Toronto Tempo's inaugural season drew to a close on September 20, 2026, but their home finale loss didn't dampen the spirits of their dedicated fans. Despite the lopsided outcome, the faithful supported the team until the final buzzer.

A tribute video highlighting the first season was shown on the scoreboard during a timeout with 2:57 remaining, prompting a rousing ovation from the crowd. More applause followed with just 30 seconds left to play.

Tempo head coach Sandy Brondello reflected on the season, acknowledging that there were only a few games where she was disappointed by their effort. However, she praised the team's resiliency and togetherness in the face of adversity, including key injuries to players like Brittney Sykes and Marina Mabrey.

Brondello noted that despite the losses, there are things to be excited about as they move forward into 2027. The Tempo finished with an average home crowd of 10,828 and consistently sold out Coca-Cola Coliseum throughout the season.
