Tempus AI Stocks Soar 92% on Medicare Revenue Projections
Tempus AI (TEM) stock has staged a remarkable recovery since July, surging 92% in value after hitting its lowest point at $41.55 on July 29.
The company's CEO, Eric Lefkofsky, presented Medicare reimbursement projections at the Morgan Stanley 24th Annual Global Healthcare Conference, outlining expectations for $80 million to $100 million in reimbursements next year from its solid tumor tissue scanning diagnostic and $250 million to $300 million in revenue potential from its liquid biopsy offering.
Lefkofsky emphasized that Tempus maintains a database of 50 million patients and has established partnerships with hospitals and pharmaceutical firms, providing a competitive advantage in the data licensing arena. The company's data licensing division expanded 36% in the recent quarter, with major pharmaceutical partnerships exceeding $100M each from AstraZeneca, Merck, GSK, and others.
Despite the stock's rapid ascent, analyst consensus shows a Moderate Buy rating with a target price of $66.56, indicating approximately 17% potential downside. Lefkofsky dismissed suggestions of overvaluation, stating that Tempus is committed to achieving 25% annual growth throughout the next decade.
