Ternus Weighs Major Shake-Up at Apple
Apple CEO John Ternus is weighing significant changes to the company's operations and product release strategy. According to Bloomberg, Ternus aims to sharpen Apple's engineering focus, release products more frequently, and build a leaner organization.
The potential overhaul may involve shifting away from Apple's traditional spring-and-fall product launch cycle, which currently includes two major events each year: the June developers conference and the September event for new iPhones and devices. Ternus is also considering cutting middle-management roles to shorten the distance between engineers and top executives.
The changes are still in the early stages, but some have already begun. Apple's hardware engineering division has started cutting program-management roles, including roughly half a dozen directors. The company has also made significant cuts to teams working on Siri, the Vision Pro headset, and AI-related software.
