Ternus's Compensation Package Falls Short of Cook's
Apple's CEO transition has been finalized, with Tim Cook stepping into the Executive Chairman position and John Ternus taking over as the new CEO. According to a recent report, Ternus will make approximately $58 million in fiscal 2027, significantly lower than Cook's $74.3 million payout for 2025.
Ternus's compensation package consists of a $3 million annual salary and a stock grant valued at $55 million in 2027. In contrast, Cook's new role as Executive Chairman comes with a $2 million salary and a $45 million stock package.
Cook's pay is less affected by Apple's stock performance due to the company's diversified investment portfolio, which ties up only half of his investments to the S&P 500. As Executive Chairman, Cook will also act as a government liaison for Apple.
