Tesla Faces NHTSA Deadline on Cybercab Self-Certification Amid Revised Delivery Forecast
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has ordered Tesla to provide sworn answers to 21 detailed questions regarding its Cybercab self-certification by September 30.
In related news, Goldman Sachs has revised its third-quarter delivery forecast for Tesla down to 435,000 vehicles from a prior estimate of 490,000, which is below the Visible Alpha consensus of 456,000.
Tesla's Morningstar forecasts predict that the company will deliver around 1.8 million vehicles in 2026 and 2.8 million annually by 2030, with its Roadster considered a niche vehicle already included in valuation.
A recent analysis of Tesla's vehicle data found that its cars average 5.4 years old compared to 3.0 years for other models in the same age cohort, while salvage rates for Tesla vehicles hold around 18-19%.
