A bizarre theft in California has left authorities scratching their heads after thieves made off with two trailers containing 40,000 pounds of sand. The trailers were branded with Nvidia and PlusAI logos, leading the thieves to assume they contained valuable gaming technology.

However, upon opening the trailers, the thieves discovered that each was filled with an astonishing 20,000 pounds of sand, rendering their stolen goods worthless.

The incident came to light on September 24th when a PlusAI executive received a message from an acquaintance in Newark, California, reporting the presence of two trucks bearing Nvidia and PlusAI logos near his workplace. The trailers were meant to be docked outside the company's warehouse, but had been stolen instead.

The thieves had hooked up their own cabs to the trailers before making off with them, leaving behind a trail of confusion for authorities.
