David Plummer, a former Microsoft developer, has created TMOG (Task Manager OG), a new system monitor app that works on macOS and Linux. This tool is the result of using AI-assisted coding tools, specifically Claude Code.

TMOG offers real-time data on system usage, including per-process resource usage, power, CPU speed, core status, network connections, and disk space. It also features a 'Flight Recorder' that allows users to rewind data to help identify issues when they occurred.

While TMOG is free to download and use for live monitoring, some advanced features like the 'Flight Recorder' require a paid plan of $39.95 per year. The app is currently in beta and available for Ubuntu users as a Deb installer, AppImage, or executable binary for 64-bit Intel/AMD and Arm64 devices.
