Tridents Triumph Over Warriors, Seals Playoff Spot in CPL
The Barbados Tridents ended the group stage of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on a high note, defeating the Guyana Amazon Warriors by six wickets at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. The Tridents secured their sixth victory of the tournament, reaching the target of 99 with 31 deliveries to spare.
The Warriors were bowled out for just 99, their second-lowest total of the season. AM Ghazanfar and Johann Layne claimed three wickets apiece for the Tridents, while Veerasammy Permaul and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took one wicket each for the Warriors.
Brandon King led the chase with an unbeaten 44, taking control of the innings after a brief interruption due to weather. The Tridents' win sealed their spot in the play-offs, securing third place in the group stage.
