Trump Reveals Heavy Trading in SpaceX, Microsoft, and Amazon
US President Donald Trump's latest financial disclosure has revealed significant trading activity in several key companies. Between July 10 and 17, Trump bought as much as $50,000 worth of shares and sold as much as $15,000 in Elon Musk's SpaceX. The trades were made during a period when SpaceX's share price fell by 15%. In addition to SpaceX, Trump also traded heavily in Microsoft and Jeff Bezos-led Amazon.
According to the disclosure, more than 1,100 securities transactions were made on Trump's behalf in July, including sales of as much as $25 million each of Microsoft and Amazon shares. The largest trade was executed on July 20, when Microsoft and Amazon shares worth between $5 million and $25 million each were offloaded from Trump's portfolio.
White House spokesman Davis Ingle said that third-party financial institutions independently manage the president's portfolio and replicate 'recognised indexes', such as the Schwab 1000. This is the second time in recent months that Trump has been linked to significant trading activity, following a similar revelation involving Musk's SpaceX in 2024.
